Seven teams took part in our second tournament of the year in McNab. Congratulations to the tournament winners, My Friends.
Thank you too all of the players, umpires and volunteers that helped to make it a success.
We look forward to returning again next year.
Sixteen teams took the field in McNab for a fantastic tournament. We want to thank the numerous volunteers and prize donors. We also want to send a huge shout out to our umpires who did a great job and to everyone that participated. We were treated to some amazing speeches from families of Autism during the prize draws and had the rare occasion to be able to present a family with their cheque in person.
We also need to congratulate Steph Lapensee for a great job at his first tournament as an SPFA convener.
On the diamonds Smilin Devils walked away with the A Championship while Bootleggers took the B championship. Congratulations to both teams.
Thank you McNab for a terrific day!!
Our first trip to McNab was a blast. We met some amazing people and found a nice little facility for tournaments in the middle of the country. Once again, we were able to payout another family of Autism and first time team, Nerves of Steele brought us $380 in donations. Fantastic job guys!
We want to thank all of the volunteers that helped out. With the assistance of Stephane Lapensee we look forward to coming back to the area for more Slo-pitch For Autism.
We saw many close games including a walkoff grand slam in the quarters, a seven run last inning comeback in the semis and a finals that ended with the tying run and DH on deck.
Congratulations to tournament champions Smokin Aces and thanks to everyone that helped to make this a successful day.
