This past weekend in Breslau was scorching hot but nine teams persevered through it for another awesome day on the diamonds. We want to thank all of the participants and umpires for a great day.
We want to thank Tabi Lennox for the prize donations and to all the teams that made donations. Donations were lead by OTF Guelph Splats with $205 and WOOSAA with $125. During the prize draws we also had the privilege to hear from some great speakers from families of Autism.
Lastly we want to congratulate Lisa (don't call her Linda) Christine for doing a great job convening her first SPFA summer tournament.
On the diamond congratulations to WOOSAA who after many trips to the finals in previous tournaments finally won their championship.
Thanks again Breslau. We look forward to returning.
Seven teams came out for SPFA in Kitchener. Thank you to Sticks n' Stones for all of their efforts to enter 2 teams for the weekend, way to share Trish Howe. Roger's TV came out and take some interviews and footage of the games Saturday morning. Kitchener held a fantastic skills comp including a home run derby, Congratulations to our home run winners Tawnya Kaine and Jason Hill.
Teams were so welcoming of having a local parent come out and umpire for the first time, Brian did an amazing job and we hope to see him out again. On Sunday We had Brian's family take some time to come out to the diamonds and be apart of our prize draws and speeches. Brian and Natalie's son Liam enjoyed the morning watching the games and watching his dad umpire.
In the end the championship went to a team who went undefeated. Congratulations to the Horntails on the win!
