We. had a great time in Barrie. Ten teams participated and truly got the whole idea of "Have fun, we're here for the cause." It was a very evenly matched tournament with 7 one run games, 4 two run games an 8 inning playoff game and a 10 inning playoff game.
We were able to payout another family and heard from Heather Kearns and a 6 year old boy with Autism during the prize draw segment. Pitches Be Crazy topped up their donations to move back into 2nd place on the donations leader board.
Thank you to everyone that made it such an enjoyable experince. Thank you also to the volunteer umpires, to Melissa Squires for the prize donations.
In the end Stride For Pride defeated Suicide Squad in the A finals and I'd Hit That defeated Misfits in the B finals
We were in Barrie May 13-14 and had many hi-lites. First off, we got everything in with no rain. We met many teams that not played our tournaments before and many amazing people. It was our first opportunity to run the skills comps this year, with the hi-lite probably being Carrie Stanley and James Stanley winning the pitching comps. A new team to our tournaments, Pitches Be Crazy, took over top spot on our fundraising leader board with over $800 in donations and the hi-lite of the weekend was the speech given by Iain who is Autistic and his mother receiving her payout after being on our list for a long time. Thanks to all of the volunteers and participants. Congratulations to tournament champs Average Joe's.
After getting cancelled in 2016 for no snow the 2017 event had more than enough. Seven teams competed and made for a fun filled day. Thank you to those that stepped up to volunteer and thank you to everyone that participated. Congratulations to tourney champions Pro Fit. We always have a great time in Barrie and this was no exception.
